I have been thinking about them and making them in my mind for a while now, I am so happy to finally have executed them, and now they are a finished complete product and just how I envisioned them!

Smackdown. MYGlam bag vs. BirchBox for March

This post will be direct and straight to the point. What I received from both subscriptions for the month of March and what I liked the most.

Let’s start with MYGlam bag. I received it on March 11th, and here is the product breakdown:

What I like:

The Pur-Lisse lip nourisher & the crease brush. The other items will be used only once and normally they don’t capture my attention. Rarely could you judge a product from using it once!

What I like:

I am actually very excited to try all these samples from Birchbox. The sample sizes I received are very decent and way better than the MYGlam samples for this month. Now, it’s already spring and it is the time to start taking care of toning and cleansing your body; therefore, I am excited to be trying the Tea Forte packets. I received three flavors: Cucumber Mint, Honey Yuzu, and Cherry Marzipan. They all sound delicious. Oh how much I love tea!

Also, I am always down to trying new dry shampoos, this one smells delicious. The nail polish color is so pretty and perfect for the spring. The Yogini scent is very relaxing and the blemish cleaner is going to be very handy.

Bottom Line, who is the winner in my eyes for this month?

BirchBox is.

Cruising..

A couple weeks more and the hubby and I will be on a cruise to the Bahamas. How exciting! All I could think of now is the sun, the beach, the sand, the sunny skies, the relaxation,  and the delicious food.

I am preparing my outfits now since it is getting closer and closer 😀

these few pieces will be great for lounging around and touring the tiny streets of the islands.

The New Clutch

One trend I am absolutely loving this season is the Box Clutch.

Now, we girls tend to love our enormous bags where we carry all our life in. It doesn’t matter how many promises you make, to yourself,  not to carry your whole closet in there, somehow someway it ends up happening. Huge bags are so fabulous, but they are not too fab when you are trying to find your car keys that get  stashed, all the way at the bottom of the bag, with load and loads of unnecessary items on top!

Other time, logging that huge bag with you while shopping, walking around, even a night out with the friends can become very tedious. With all what’s in it, you will probably feel like you are working out your arm muscles. Seriously, many times,  this huge bag can become a substitute for an 8 pounds dumbbells, if not heavier.

The perfect solution to all this trouble is the new box clutch. They come in different sizes, styles, with and without shoulder straps, cross body strap, etc. Bottom line, you can find one that fits your style and purpose. These fabulous clutches carry the necessary items you would normally NEED. There will no room for all that extra “crap”. This is perfect for a night out, clubbing, a dinner, or even shopping. All you need in life in your credit card, a few dollars just in case, your phone, and lipstick for touch ups. We tend to over exaggerate and think we need a whole lot more, but trust me, that’s all what we need.

2012 Spring Trends

We all can feel the spring approaching. As I was driving to work this morning, I noticed how it wasn’t as dark anymore. The sun actually came out earlier than what it had been doing for the past few months. This observation instantly drew a smile on my face and lifted my mood (I am sure we all can agree that driving to work, at 6am in the morning, is not the ideal thing to do!).

Spring is my favorite season of all, especially when you live in Virginia. Virginia has one of the worst winters (well not this year, at least we haven’t seen anything yet), and it has one of those nasty hot and sticky humid summers; therefore, spring and fall are the best seasons in this state. However, spring always wins!

Spring = bright sunny skies + a nice breeze + Easter + Blooms + Cherry Blossom in DC + My Birthday! On top of all that, this year Spring 2012 means Pastel colors + Neon colors+ A-symmetrical skirts + Spikes and studs + Chunky Chain Accessories + tiny jewelry pieces + Brogue shoes + loafers + and another trend that is going to help us transition from winter to Spring and stick with us for a while is the Ankle Boot!

Here are a few ankles boots that you can put your hands on. I have 1, 2, 3 as my favorites. I think they would look extra cute with a bodycon mini neon skirt, a flowy pastel sheer shirt, a couple layers of chain necklaces, a stackable rings, and finally a subtle eye look with a bold lip color!

Must Haves

Blazer Love

I have been obsessed with blazers lately. However, those two for to be my absolute favorites. They combine both my love for blazers and bright neon colors. I love everything about them: the color, the shoulder pads, the cut, and the hardware. I cannot wait to pair them with jeggings, cute shoes/ boots, a simple T shirt, and one of my jewelry pieces.

Go Green!

I know we haven’t gotten one single decent snow storm yet, but I like to keep thinking how Spring is approaching. I am looking forward to that. Spring has got to be my favorite season!

In spring everything turns green, flowers and trees blossom, life returns to the nature, our mood gets lifted, and our days become brighter!

I always associate Spring with pastel colors, my birthday, Easter, and finally the color Green! What a better color to symbolize the Spring season than Green?

Green is definitely a cheerful lively color that symbolizes life and nature. It has this positive energy when looking at it, and it brings this sense of relaxation to your mind as well. I love Green! It has been one of my top favorite colors.

Now, let’s talk fashion. Green color is big in fashion trends this year/spring. Especially, lime green shades and neon greens. They are quite fabulous colors! I have so many favorite pieces I am planning on purchasing soon. Seriously, what a better color to welcome the spring?

I cannot help it but..

I cannot help it, but keep looking and searching for vibrant color clothing items. I guess its how they say, you wont know the meaning of something until you lose it. Same here, I think because its the winter season, you start to see less and less of those vibrant colors, you start noticing browns, blacks, and greys all around and surrounding you. Well I miss Color, I miss it so much and want it back in my life!

If you know me, you know how I do majority of my shopping online. You’d also know that I always find all kind of cool sites online. Family and friends always give me that fascinated look and say “How do you find this stuff?!”. I love how I mastered online shopping that they come to me and ask about finding a particular item, what site to use, my thoughts on the product, ideas, recommendations, or if I have any promos or coupons.

For now though, I want to leave you with this amazing online store I stumbled upon, Nasty Gal. They have beautiful pieces and accessories. I’ve been in love with it for a couple of months and finally made my first purchase.

As you can tell from my inspiration board, I am so ready for the spring and summer. All I keep thinking about is how I need to let go of those couple of pounds I piled on this winter season, so I can enjoy my new Neon hot pink dress!
